IRS - Integrity Management

'A strong integrity policy forms an effective basis to meet changing societal and legal demands.'

Some coordinates of EBIAF®

EBIAF® is a dynamic model which uses existing functions and structures in the standing organization to support integrity and promote ethical behaviour. It works on the basis of three elements:

  • An elaborated preventive system to minimise unethical behaviour, embodied in the proactive domain.
  • A well-oiled response system to guarantee an effective reaction to each case of undesired behaviour in an organization, embodied in the reactive domain.
  • A connecting and monitoring system to secure optimal cooperation within and between the reactive and proactive domain, embodied in the interactive domain.

Furthermore mechanisms are applied which constantly bring improvements and adjustments to the domains.

Within the three domains, 10 functions (which we call: Integrity Performance Drivers) are working as the starting point of an effective integrity policy. Each function has a specific task and role.

The 4 Integrity Performance Drivers which function in the preventive domain are:
          1. Ethical Framework
          2. Training and Education
          3. Communication and Outreach
          4. Confidential Consultation

These are completed with a driver from the interactive domain:
          5. Meta Analysis and processing of preventive policies

The 4 Integrity Performance Drivers which function in the reactive domain are:
          6. Proactive Detection and Risk Management
          7. Self Reporting
          8. Investigations
          9. Sanctions and Disciplinary Actions

These are completed with a driver from the interactive domain:
         10. Meta Analysis and processing of reactive policies
